Thank you
Thank you to everyone who came out in peace on March 25th. Non-violent, peaceful planning and witness had a significant impact on a remarkable day in Llantwit. A small number of fringe Neo-Nazi campaigners did come to the town, but significant numbers of town people turned out to say that the agitators' deeply unpleasant message wasn't welcome. We are grateful to all those who came from further afield to support that message with peaceful goodwill.
The narrative around far right groups is frightening. It's one thing to read about it in the press or online, another thing to imagine people who associate in that way actually coming to the streets and parks of the place where you live or work. The community's overwhelming and positive response gave confidence to many that there is a way to come together that is rooted in kindness.
24 hours of colourful celebration and peaceful community action.
A call to everybody in Llantwit to come together for 24 hours of celebration of kindness this coming Saturday, 25th March
What's happening?
Groups and organisations around town are planning celebrations to show what a kind, friendly, welcoming town Llantwit has always been and is today. It's happening this Saturday. It's for everybody. The public programme is below.
Why this Saturday?
We're choosing this Saturday because, completely uninvited, a very unpleasant group based in England who have a fascist agenda have said they will meet in Llantwit. We want to show what a friendly and welcoming town this is for everybody, and say a clear NO to unwanted interference.
Who are Llantwit 24?
Llantwit 24 - together in kindness is not a political group. It's just people from the town from different community groups and organisations coming together to say, "our town is a decent, good place" and we want to show it.
We're here to share good news, affirm goodness, support, and encourage. Please join in.

I've heard
there will be
a counter protest?
Stand Up to Racism and other counter-protesters intend to gather at 11am at the Llanmaes Road end of Eagleswell Road to voice their protest against the Neo-Nazi group who have declared that they will be in town on Saturday.

Llantwit 24 - Together in Kindness ask that this gathering be a peaceful public presence which makes a firm, clear statement that Llantwit is no place for Neo-Nazi agitation and unpleasant interference.
Llantwit residents are capable of raising their own voices and taking part in local democracy. Llantwit has a good, strong community of many different voices. We may not all agree with each other, but we stand together against divisive agitation.
Where can
I find out
more?
There is more information about the far right group who intend to demonstrate here in this clear 'Hope Not Hate' article.
Warning: it contains imagery which is extreme and offensive, as well as a lot of information about who the group really are.
What can
I do?
Every single person can do something to affirm what a good place Llantwit is. Make your voice heard. Take kind action. As the famous saying goes, "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good people do nothing". Llantwit is packed with good people! Take part in these community events this coming weekend. Bring friends and family. Dress with confidence and colour. Let's all celebrate and stand strongly together.
