TALK: WHY PAUL TILLICH GOT THROWN OUT OF GERMANY IN 1933 & WHAT IT’S GOT TO DO WITH LLANTWIT MAJOR TODAY
In October 2022 the New Library Llantwit Major hosted and international academic conference on the work of Paul Tillich who was thrown out of Nazi Germany in 1933 for writing a book that analysed politics, community and fascism. The book wasn’t translated into English until the late 1970’s. The Llantwit conference has created strong interest and engagement from Welsh politicians from all the main parties.

Come along to this short talk and find how the stories we tell about ourselves and our idea of community may lead to the depths of human misery and horror, and yet also can guide us wisely amongst the heights of true human compassion and joy.
